Max iv tracks

I am a new owner of a 2002 max iv. I had it out in the snow it was worthless. Four wheelers with chains work ok I was stuck more than moving. I have been looking into tracks but they seem over priced. The stock ones are 3800.00 I am not sure what comes with them but thats a lot. I found some after market ones for about a 1000.00 and again I don,t know what they come with. I also don't want to wreck the max. What should I be looking at and what do I need. I have the 26" tires do I need different axles or bearing kits.What could get harmed.

Max tracks

First off your machine should have the solid axels.You do not need to change those.The factory track kit come with bearing cages and extensions and a rail that ties all the axles together.You do need the 21 in tires to run the factory tracks.Check your machine for the bearing cages. They are on each axle on the outside of the machine .I think that the kit comes with the tires you need if I can remember right.If your machine has the cages then you wont need to buy them.If it does not then you have some work to do to install them.

Forgot to mention tha there is a used set of tracks and 6 21 in tires for sale in montana but they do not come with bearing cages.

Hi gweedo

Pond Hopper in Monticello, MN just put on a set of Tru-Traxs made over in Isanti, MN last Friday. The next day he came out and we went snow riding. I posted a video in the video forum. I thought his tracks worked very well on his Max II. He did not get stuck or high centered. I suppose the deepest snow where we rode was about 20". How many hp does your engine have? Where are you located?
