Tach for Max II - question

How do you folks have your tachometers mounted on your Max vehicles? I have a Max II and have a Sendec tach. Do you mount them on the dash so you can monitor RPMs or mount it near the engine where you basically set it and forget it?

Reason I ask is that in order to get a tach mounted on the dash, you'd need more than the max of 6-8 feet of wire run.

I use snowmobile tachometers..... i mount to the dash,some are resetable 1-2-3 cylinder too......
