When I first was learning the ins and outs of driving my Max in deep snow I had to change my thinking from the usual "more power" and found like you that it worked much better at half throttle. In fact the only place I found that was fine at full throttle was on hard packed snow. When you mention changing the spring from green to red.....what were the advantages of the green over the red ,if any?

      spring change

To me there is no advantage using the green spring over the red, however when using the red I have better power when climbing and driving through mud. The red spring doesn't change how fast you can go it just takes longer for it to get there. The difference in time isn't really noticeable when driving. Before I changed the spring I had trouble climbing to the top of a steep power line pole in my area. After the change I was able to make it to the top much easier, however don't expect miracles.

        what air pressure?

Hey SiliconTi, What air pressure do you run in your tires when you have your tracks on? Do you have any problems with them wanting to walk off when making sharp turns? Thanks for the help. I'm on a mission to make this thing go through snow next year after hearing about how good yours is in snow. Doing a complete overhaul so there is no excuses.

I run 3 PSI front, 3 PSI center and 4-5 PSI rear. Unless a front goes flat, it will not walk out of the tracks (when it does, it is a PITA to get back on).

            maybe too much air

I sent for instructions on how to install tracks and they said to run 7 psi in tires when running tracks. Would that make a difference for which my max was bad in snow?

              tire pressure

I have the original manual for installing tracks that came with my 2004 max IV. They suggest using 3psi in all six tires when tracks are new. After a while the tracks will stretch, at this point they give two options, increase air to 5psi if this doesn't help then remove tracks and take apart at clips and cut 1/2 in. off tracks and reinstall, after you do this they recommend inflating tires back to 3psi.

Looks like 4ft+ of fun snow!
                Nice pictures have any video?
It's nice to see a Max doing what it's made for.
I have a Max II with factory tracks cab and plow never been stuck with tracks
I use mine to make private snowmobile trails and maintain them it the woods. Makes plowing fun again.
Can you ride them on snowmobile trails in Minnesota? You can't in Wisconsin. Has to have ski's.
                Michigan you can.
I take my Max where my snowmobile has gotten stuck turning around at
                trail end.

I looked at the tracks he has I think there is gaps in the track not solid. Get
the new style track it should work fine. 40 degree snow is almost water really
soft sunk the snowmobile in it couple of times. Haven't tried the Max when its
that warm out, but I think it would have went threw it better snowmobile it has
one track Max has 2 solid tracks and they are longer!! I'll try it next year snow all gone that sucks!! I'll let you know.
