  • broke wheel off axle need help

    the first time on trail ride i broke the wheel off the axle the flange that you bolt the tire and rim to the axle is where it broke off clean. can this be welded back on?it is the front left axle it is on a 1991 maxll 6x6 thanks richard

      Sorry to hear about your first ride, sound like mine sorta. From the description it sound like the hub not the actual axle right? I would go ahead and weld the hub with out a worry.

        I agree about welding the axle. Worst case it just falls off again. But on the bright side you still have 5 more tires. Just be sure to tack it well so it will not pull and get too far out of alignment before you run a bead. If you are using a stick welder I have had good luck tacking with 6010, running a bead of 6010 and covering that with 7018. You may also want to move the re-welded axle to the middle if you are worried about it so it will take less of a beating. I did that and it has worked for me. Best of luck!
