I was able to wedge a large piece of metal into the middle of the bushing and twist and pull to get 2 out. I took the other two to a machine shop. they're tough. Luckily I had the last two axles made.

      Here is what I did

I took a threaded tap that was not to large and installed it to get a good hold of the bushng. Clamped on a pair of Vicegrips to the end of the tap and
Tapped it out with a hammer.

If you have a die grinder or a dremel, you can relieve one side of the bushing until it's very thin and then it's an easy task to knock it out. Drive a pointed chisel down next to the thin spot and it should collapse into the center. At least that's how it works for me.

I changed one on my max II last year the bushings are 1" od, 3/4" id and 1" long. I got mine out by using a bolt I don't remember if it was 3/4" or 15/16". I just screwed it in a half inch or so and then used a hammer to get the bolt out, the bushing came right out with the bolt but it did take quite a bit to get it started. I cleaned the axle up with an inch drill bit and pounded the bushing back in. I did have to use a 3/4" bit to get the bushing back in shape since it mushroomed a little when I pounded it in the axle. Hope that helps it worked for me.
