Has anyone found a cross reference for the RIM 018033 belt?
The original on my 1997 MaxIV was a DAYCO 018033 and the $72.50$ replacement belt I got from RIM is a Carlisle 018033 1415-281 (Carlisle took over some of the Dayco belt business).
I can not find that number any where.
The new RIM belt looks like it's a 1-3/16" x 42-3/8" belt.Last edited by PlumCrazy; 01-21-2013, 10:19 PM.The trouble with retirement is.... I never get a day off !!!!

Towards the end of this old Gates belt catalog they have the belts by size and the Gates 6004 should do the trick for you. It's 42-1/2" long by 1-3/16" wide.
http://pacificnorthwestvintagesnowmo...sbeltguide.pdf It'll take a little while to load.
I looked here on the Goodyear belt site by dimensions, again toward the end of the catalog and a Goodyear 71134 would be the closest to what you have at 42-9/16" long by 1-3/16" wide.

My MAX IV with 16 Vanguard has a Dayco MAX 1092 belt which according to the book is 42 3/4" long X 1 3/16" wide, there is about 1/2" of shim between motor and mounting stand.Thomas

Thanks Blown84GT, I just bought a new one on ebay for 13.99$ delivered.
Can't get any cheaper than that.
So far we got a Gates 6004, Carlisle/Dayco 018033 and a Dayco MAX 1092 that fit the 16hp Vanguard.

Good Evening everyone,
I am wondering if anyone out here can help me locate the belt number for my 1997 MaxIV. I do not have any number on the existing belt that is on my machine so I am reaching out to my fellow mud runners for help. Also would anyone have any idea as to who manufactures the two clutches on my machine? Thank you all in advance, for any true help will be greatly appreciated.

For the belt number, if you will use the search, there are several detailed threads with information depending on what motor you have. Here is one to get you started: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...ax-4-belt.html
For the clutches, most likely they are comet. There are threads in the transmission forum with different options. Several members have used 300782A - 780 Series Driven Clutch for Recreatives Ind Max ATVs | ATV Parts | MFG Supply
