i ran some bad gas in my 2002 max II 22hp kolher motor now its running like crap . Is there a fuel filter or screen anywhere? its back firing a lot, you have to hold the throttle in for about 10 sec for it to start, it stalls going down hills. It will not idle right. It will almost die then rev high.

Follow the fuel line from the tank back to the motor. There should be an in-line filter near the motor.

If that's not it then try cleaning the carb real good. Take a wire brush and break off one bristle. Run it through each port. Then spray with carb cleaner through each one to check for proper flow.

clean your spark plugs too
