hey guys,i have a question.when i turn i hear a poping noise, then the left chain by the tranny brakes,so i turn right the right one brakes.when i rode in the woods, when i turned left it make the poping a few times just thought the band was slipping, why did this happen,i also have new chains on,,thanks

I would check the trans bolts and chain to make sure they are tight enough.I put a chain on my trans too tight and it broke. My max was doing the same popping noise,Two bolts where missing on the left side of the trans.

Block the machine so that all the wheels are off the ground. Rotate the wheels to see if the noise appears and check the chain tension while the wheels are turning to make sure you have no tight spots. Push and pull on all the axles to see if they move in and out. The lock rings on the axles are the only things keeping the axles aligned. If they move in or out when turning, you'll definately get the POP.

My max was popping because the owner before me left the 2 bolts out that holds the trans in.This caused the adjuster on the jackshaft to break,The trans was moving enough to cause the chain to loosen up.After welding the adjuster back on and replacing the bolts on the trans solved my problem.I would adjust the chain a small amount at a time, but not tight,Then make sure the jackshaft and trans bolts are tight.I hope this helps.

The best way to solve that problem is making another brace that catches the bolts for the T-20 and then bolts to the frame. The slots in the frame do not hold the trans very well. I used a length of 1" wide flat bar about 1/16" thick.

                Trans bolts

RI has an update for that. I just rebuilt my T-20 and they sent a new plate that keeps the trans bolts from coming out.

You don't have a pic of that plate do you?

I've got that kit on order and I plan to enter it into a CAD program so that I can cut more on the CNC machine as needed.
