Kevin Griffin is the master of these kind of engine swaps. He has done this in both the Max II and Max IV.

What do you think a Chevy , Geo motor weighs?

Hey Mudbug, I'd imagine it weighs somewhere in the high 100's or so, but that is just a guess. A while back here on the site there was someone that posted a link of all the different car and truck motors and their weights.

We did a thread on the geo metro 1000cc at route6x6 while back. They are very light and small, 50 hp? or somethin'. I'd go there and search for "geo" etc

My dad always talked about using a 3 cyl Chevy Sprint motor but, that's probably the same as the GEO.

Chevy Sprint is just an older Geo metro. There was a turbo one around my neck of the woods back in the day. I cant remember if it was factory or custom job though.

The geo engine they talked about was a 993 suzuki.. a couple different cars used them for a few years.

I did a search and fount this......"With the addition of the turbo and fuel injection, the Sprint name becomes appropriate as horsepower jumps to 70, from 48"

% wise, thats a huge differance!!!

                      Found it here....

                        LarryW ,

The sprint motor might be a good choice for a Max IV , if you could buy it at the right price.
