New bearings for my old(er) Max II

I will have to replace the axle, bearing, plate(s) & locking collar on my 1996 Max II. Would someone please be so kind as to tell me the axle diameter so I can pick up the right size bearing at my local Tractor Supply store? By some miracle, would anyone actually have the TSC part number for the bearing that fits Max??

What is the best source for a replacement axle? The stock units were the wimpy hollow jobs (because I was young & stupid!) so I am upgrading to solid as long as I have to replace it. Any advantage (price and/or quality) going with RI vs. Richard Clark? Any other outlets for these things?

I'd stay away from those Tractor Supply bearings, and especially stay away from the bearings from Richard Clark. They aren't very good and won't last long. You can get bearings that are less expensive and much better quality from Buffalo Bearing. If it is an older Max II the bearings are 62mm OD and 1.25" ID. Call Buffalo Bearing and tell them Jeff with the 6 wheelers sent you and they'll take good care of you, for less cost than Tractor Supply too. I believe the part number that you will need is HC 206-20 R3. You can reach them at (716) 874-1720.

Buffalo Bearing is the ticket, just to let you know I ordered 6 yesterday,the gentleman on the phone is VERY familiar with "us" even had the brass bushings they have other stuff too, very nice to deal with,Anyway someone bought a whole bunch over the weekend, so they are getting more from the manufacture.
They are triple sealed with colar.
I was the first to order from Alaska
My bearings were tin roof...Rusted, still rolled though.

i am currently overhauling an 87 maxII, i also needed bearings, so i just googled the part # and i ended up buying the same bearings right down to the part# from a place in florida for about $8.00 a piece with the locking collar! its a bearing outlet supply company! the total for all 6 bearings and collars was about $52.oo with shipping!

Make sure there is an "R3" at the end of the part number, because that means they're tripple lip sealed. If they aren't and you take the machine in mud and water, the bearings won't last very long.

the place i bought mine from was bearingoutlet.com as i said they where the same part #as i took out of mine with the locking collar for about $8.00 a piece, there may be better ones out there just my 2cents!!
