Hey, do they ever answer the phone or return phone calls up there at Recreative Industries?

  • #2
    Hey Joe,...

The easy answer is that the guys are usually running all over the shop... If you're looking for parts, Jay is rarely up "in his office", and Dan's a pretty busy dude most of the time. I'd press "0" to get to the receptionist and ask specifically to speak with one of the guys.... usually gets somebody there pronto when the loudspeaker blasts through the shop....

I'm spoiled.... I just drive down and waltz in.

Are you going to show up to Ledges this weekend?

Jay, returned my call and quoted me some prices for t-20 parts.

Gear Drums- $250.00 per durm $500.00
            Brake Bands $ 90.00 per band $360.00
            Seal Kit $ 50.00

            Total: $910.00

He did say you can take 10 to 15 thousandths of the face of the drums. Everything else looks fine. I'm going to replace the output shaft bearings and planet gear needle bearings, if needed. He also said I don't have to be concerned about the pitting on the drums. So, this is the first time I've ever opened one of these up. I think the Gear Drums may be shot and need replaced; What do you t-20 guys think?

Robbie beat me to the punch.

i sand blasted them first then took ten thousandths off in the lathe. in this picture, the one on the right hasn't been turned yet. i had just put it in the lathe and polished with emery cloth. i don't have the #'s in front of me, but i did the math and figured that you will have to run the adjuster bolts on all 4 plungers about 2 turns tighter to get proper adjustment.

i would love to tell you that i've run mine and it works great, but i haven't gotten around to getting it back together... or even ordering bands for that matter
