They certainly would if you knew the size.If you follow the posts of the past month you will see that I have tirelessly attempted to find a size for my Max II 850T,so far no luck.I have read that all Max take a 1 3/16" wide belt .Other than that you need to know the length. When you have this information Napa and others can find one.The challenge is: by the time you need a belt your old one will be worn narrower so of course you no longer know the width and it can also be stretched so you cannot be sure of the length either.Further you could have a broken or shredded belt. Most on this forum call R.I. with model and serial number and they can ship one to you.I'm in Canada and that gives an extra curve as we have a Canadian distributor but to my knowledge they don't stock any parts. The number on my old belt though made by Dayco cannot be referenced by them.I wish you luck but if you are in the U.S. just give R.I. a call in Buffalo. You will pay a premium for something that will be found in your corner auto supply place but you will get it.

How are you putting the belt on? Do you have the engine completely unbolted from the frame?

How tight
Does anyone have an opinion on belt tension? I squeeze together at middle and measure the gap. Of course the belt needs to be at the top of the secondary. My Attex Tomahawk measures about 2" and my Buffalo is real loose-an inch or less-and still works ok. It seems to me a looser belt engages at a higher rpm and gives more speed, at some point belt will slip and fry itself.

The new number on the Dayco Max3039 is HP3003.(44 7/8"X1 3/16").This mumber is my last hope if I can assume that my old belt could stretch 3/4" in 200 hours.Seems reasonable to me.
The proper deflection on a Max is 1 3/4" measured by depressing the top near the middle.

alrite guys, i called my local auto parts store and they said that they'd accept the wrong belt back. They said they could order hp3003 and be here tuesday. Are you sure that that number belt would work on my Max II. I dont want to order the wrong belt again. Dayco Max number-1039 did not cross or anything. Should i order it??

I can tell you when it comes to drive belts nothing is certain. My information comes from page two on the Max Forums in which there is a thread that I started on a "Drive Belt for Max II 850T".On this thread Mike posted a link for Dayco belts in which the Dayco Max Belts are listed by number and dimensions.I learned that Dayco sold a portion of their belt business to Carlisle and renumbered their remaining belts. On this thread is a cross reference from Dayco Max belts to Dayco HP belts which I placed there by means of a link. Many will tell you the simplest way to get a belt is to contact R.I. with your model and serial number and they will ship one to you.Not bad advice either.
