I am in the same delema as 'NewtomeMax4' with tracks for my buffalo. We just recieved 24" of light snow in VT and I would like to take the bufalo out in it. The standard tracks seem to be the way to go at 15". Its just a big investment of time and money. I am trying to see if it worth the effort.

When I signed up here, this snow problem was main reason that I am looking for answers to. I have a Max 4 that came with tracks, and as I live in a N.Y. sno-belt area, I thought I had the perfect offroad machine for all conditions. In any type of snow, all it does, if the snows deep, is sink to the belly pan and spin! My brother-in-law,whos a snowmobiler, says its cause the factory tracks have no cleats. Does anyone offer cleat kits for the factory tracks? Would hate to pay for a new, different style of tracks.

The older style "waffle" pattern rubber tracks aren't as good in the deep snow as the newer Camoplast ones that Recreatives offers. The Camoplast ones have a 1 or 1.25" deep rubber cleat and they go through pretty much any amount of snow. I know 6X6World member MaxIVMark is selling his Recreatives Camoplast tracks because he replaced them with the Adair mud tracks. He's got his on ebay now if you'd like to see what they look like, or you could send him a message here on the site. He's from NY too and they've worked great in the deep Buffalo snow.
