I have long been curious about the Buffalo Truck and rarely if ever see a post about it.I am to understand that it is not as capable as the Max II or Max IV because of it's excessive weight.Does anyone here have anything to offer about the Buffalo Truck?

I would think if you removed the bed it would be just as capable as a Max IV especially since the engine sits much lower in the Buffalo truck than it does in the IV. I have no personal experience with one though. I think the reason that you see so little posts about them is that there are very few made compared to Max IIs and IVs. There are however a couple of Buffalo owners here on the forums. Perhaps they will chime in.

According to my RI manual which covers all models the drivetrain is that of a Max II at least in engine /transmission layout. It's weight is around 1150 lbs. I think which puts it much heavier than either of the other two models. It is completely unique to the amphibian world though.

And you could always get tracks for it, or add dual wheels to lower the exerted PSI of the machine. The extra weight of that machine really isn't going to make much of a noticeable difference when it comes to performance or off road driving. I drove a Buffalo Truck and it is a great machine. I'd love to have one in my collection sometime down the road."Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

Buffalo
We have a Buffalo truck that we got new a couple of years ago. They are heavier than the II and IV, and maybe a tiny bit slower, but with a comptetent operator they will go anywhere the others go with no trouble. We use ours primarily for trail riding (our dogs love to stand in the back). We ride with Max II's, IV's and Argos and it holds its own no worries. The tipping tray is very handy, but is a little on the heavy side. I think if it had a plastic tray the weight would be cut down quite a bit, but it is tough to make something that is both durable and light weight. I'm going to get a set of duals for it soon, and see how much further it will go. All in all a good strong machine, and we're very happy with it.

hello Eldon these buffalo trucks are of interest to me too, i bought 2 of them but they haven't got here yet so i'm quite excited ,did you know that Argos offered boxes allmost exactly like these but dropped the option some yrs ago due to lack of sales .He who has not cruised the back country in a 6x6 , has not lived life to it's fullest
A Mans level of mechanical education directly corresponds to the level pain suffered while getting it
