( QUOTE ) ' That guy in the Max II shows no mercy! '
AussieMax ,
Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. That Max II might be able to do that for a while, but sooner or later, if you keep driving that way its going to lead to premature axle and bearing failure.

Larry,
At 5:44 in the video it shows the factory track option for the Max II. The ' bearing cage/ extenion ' that you are referring to was left on after the tracks were removed. The bearing cage/ extensions are part of the track option that is included in the track kit.

The only ones I have seen are the bearing cages that look more like a cage. Those look more like a steel rectangular structure or something that connects all the axle together on the outside. Tough to tell though? Is that how they are?
I went to max site and they show the caged ones on the track option. 3 picture over, head on view.

I once read a post some where on route 6x6 about a man who took the factory tracks off of his Max II, but decided to leave the external frame rails and outer bearing cages on. He said that riding with out the floor boards ,and with out the outer frame rails and outer bearing cages , you could actually see the frame flex up and down, as the axles moved up and down on the outside of the tub. He also said that with the outer frame rails and outer bearing cages now installed, riding his Max II fast now feels a lot more stable than with out them.

Hi:
I have the same set up as in the video, Max II with tracks. It would be more stable, because when the frame rail is installed, you also have to have the 5" wheel adapters installed too. Which gives you 10" more width.
I didn't understand a word he said, but it looks like they were having fun.
