  • MaxII in the Sand dunes

We all know how much fun the Max is in the woods and dirt.. well it's just as fun in the sand.. It actually got around pretty good and rode so much better when I had the tires inflated to 2.5 lbs.. i have AMS Zipper tires on it . I'm gonna keep my eyes open for a Vanguard 16hp Carb for it just to squeeze a little more out of it. My buddy had so much fun with it he didn't want to give it back.. I have a mount on my bumper of my TRX450r quad for a Tachyon xc Helmet cam. .

You can also look for a carb off an 18 hp.. whatever's reasonable.

That was a great video! I loved the low camera mount and the high speed action.

Very cool S40. Looks like a really fun place to ride. I guess I need to look into that camera, it takes a great picture.

Thanks George ... it's even better in bright sunlight...and it's submersible to 40' ! Tachyon XC 2010 model is the one you want... they are a great company that last year awarded me a complete 3D camera system ($600) as a prize for a couple riding videos i made last year.. THEY contacted me and asked if they could submit the videos into their contest... How cool is that? go to their website, hit the sports tab, then off roading

I just new that was Sand Mountain! Great to see a max running around out there. I have a max iv and was wondering if you could make it to the top? Looks like you had some fun! I live in Reno, I might have to bring mine out. Thanks for sharing.

It would never make it to the top.. unless it rained and you had wet sand.. We will be out in full force for Memorial day.. bring it out there! With some careful driving you can ride the ridge off to the south .. just gotta take your time getting up there..

If you had a set of J-wheelz on a Max IV it should make it to the top and them some.

It's too bad they don't make them for the 21 & 22" tires yet.

I wish I had sand dunes like that to play in. Looks like fun no trees to hit.
The best I have is beach sand and my j-wheelz make a big diffenece in the sand.

I doubt it would make it to the top with those wheels... This is loose sand , my atc 200x won't go much farther than the max up there..even a Honda 300ex quad barely makes it.. And if ya did ya gotta come back down! Gravity sucks!

Excellent video there Savage!!! I have taken mine to the outerbanks(barrier Islands) and rode and it was a blast. Sand dunes would be a hoot! Thanks for the video.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Thanks lewis! This next trip we are gonna take it around the mountain... It sux though as I'm the only one how has any video skills in our bunch... How much easier can I make it? I mount the camera on the bike and tell them to follow me.. they can't... so i end up taking the best footage and differant angles.. Third person view makes for more interesting video as the audience can see the machine rather than the trail or sand dunes ahead... GunHunter.. try and get behind the machine or in front of it coming at you... just a little tip... It would be cool to see the tracked machin in action..
