Need Windshield max IV

Any ideas on a reasonable windshield? 600.00 seems steep. 200.00 + just for material? any ideas out there? Thanks Loco

Make your own out of plexiglass or lexan. I made my wife's out of plexiglass:



I cut it with a circular saw with the blade turned around backwards.

nice job on the windshield.. I would make my own or go to your local glass shop and see if they can cut ya one out from Lexan. Would still be a lot cheaper than 600 bux

How Thick should it be, I found 1/8 inch. Do you replace the lexan often? Thanks

I believe it was 1/8" plexiglass. The key to longevity is not wiping it with anything. For instance when we woke up Saturday morning on our last ride it was covered in dew but instead of wiping it with a rag I poured some water on it. When you wipe it that's when you start to get spider webs in the plexiglass. I had a plexiglass windshield on my sand rail that I ran on the street and it lasted for several years without any problems.
