  • RPDBrady's new Max IV

My friend that I got started on 6 wheelers with in high school (6x6World user name RPDBrady) just picked up a really nice 1996 Max IV 600T. I saw this machine on Craigslist last night and the price was unbelievable. I thought it would be sold right away at the price he was asking, but I emailed the seller anyway since it was just listed that day. The seller got back to me this morning, and I passed the information along and my friend Brady......he then picked up the Max not long after. Since I have a week off I'm going to be going down to Virginia to visit and I'll be bringing new Max parts from Recreatives and we're going to get the transmission rebuilt, tune it up, and get it up and going. After a call to our friends up at Recreatives, we found out that his new machine was built in November of 1996, it came with solid axles, 26" tires, roll cage and seat belts, and an 18HP Briggs Vanguard engine. This should be a fun machine! Since he lives right on the way down to Busco, maybe we'll join you Carolina folks for a ride sometime in the future.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It does look a lot like a '97. This should be a fun machine. We'll be getting pics on here next week of when it's up and running after the T-20 rebuild, a new throttle cable, and some cleaning. We've rebuilt quite a few 6 wheelers so we're hoping that this one should only take a day of tinkering to get all dialed in.
