  • max-IV axle bearing flanges

started to remove my axle bearing flanges and discovered that there is a second flange on my axle. it appears to be pressed on to the outer bearing race. can someone give me some insite to the proper way to remove this inside flange to better service my bearings. i want to make sure that the grease holes in my races are where they should be to accept grease. thanks a bunch:

Max IVs did not have pressed on brg holders ,lateral thrust sometimes swells the size of the holder and jams the brg into it, once you get it off you'll need new brg holders if the holder does not hold the brg tight

there are two bearing flanges on the axle. the one against the tub seems to be pressed on the race. if i tap it to rotate it, the race moves with it. if it would be possible, call me cell (845) 913 6709. my name is Bid Rich. thanks

youll have to remove the axle to get that flange off the brg so while you're at it change both brgs and the flanges for the outer brg , or you could put it back together and drive it till it goes caput LOL
