hi i want to put the new chain on the max II i know the front i have rs 50 but i dont know how long do i have to get and i dont know what size in the back and size and where can i get them thanks for help

what size(s) of chain you will need will depend on the year and model of the machine. the chains from the t-20 to the jackshaft should always be #50. compare the size of the other chains to that. if they are bigger, you will need #60, smaller you will need #40. motion industries is a great source for chain and bearings. Motion Industries - Keeping Industry in Motion buy good chain, or you'll be buying again. i have been using us tsubacki with good results. you will need around 30 feet of chain, but what combination of sizes you have will determine how much of each you need to buy. if your lucky it will be all #50 and you can just order 3 ten foot boxes

Go to tractor supply with a couple links of ur chain find the chain size just sit it side by side it will take 5 boxs and that will do front and back chains both sides the boxes are 25 dollars a piece for 10 feet of chain I have had chains from tractor supply on my max ii without tensioners for 2 years and they have not stretched a inch

Ok guys i just put some 50 chain on my MaxIV ,,,,,i put it on the one that comes from trans to the back axles they are 52 links long it seams to be doing great ...The guys at Buffalo bearings told me that the 50 chain they sold me was as strong and it was as good as 0'ring chain the only thing that was different is that the O 'ring chain was a little wider because it has 4 rubber O'rings on it witch makes it wider .The O'ring chains don't get as much dirt in them because of the O'rings that is on them ..buy if you don't let trash get down in the tub ,,the 50 chain should do the job ,,right ,,

i run #50 us tsubacki chain in all my machines. i get mine from motion industries. personally i think o ring chain is overkill... at least for where/ how i ride. i get a little stretch the first few rides with new chain, but i haven't had to adjust the chains in my wild wolf in months and i just finished building it last september. just buy good quality chain... just like tools. buy a good tool once or a cheap one twice and the price is the same

Many, many years ago when it was time to replace my chains I removed all of it at once and took it to my local John Deere dealer and bought Deere chain. I have been VERY pleased with the performance and comparatively low-adjustment intervals, compared to the stock chain. There are certainly other chain brands out there that are every bit as good as JD chain - or better. Take heed to what others here have said: you get what you pay for. Considering what a pain it can be to get to the chains, the less often you have to fart with them the better. Top quality chain is money well spent, IMHO.
