  • max 2 chain

I have a 98 max 2 and was looking to replace the chain since its still the original and is pretty stretched. How much #50 do i need to do just on the axles?
The feat of sinking a max is a badge of honor.

I have a 1991 Max and called the RI factory for the following information:
4 drive chains are each 102 links (including the master link) total and are ANSI #50 chain, this totals about 255 inches of chain
2 chains from Transmission to Jackshafts are 46 links total and are ANSI #50 chain, this totals about 57.5 inches of chain
Therefore to replace all of the #50 chains you will need about 313 inches (26 feet) of chain. Chain is common in 10 foot packages so you will end up getting 30 feet total but have to splice one of the 4 drive chains with another master links.

2 chains from the jackshaft down to center axel are 34 links total and are ANSI #60 chain, This totals about 51 inches of chain.
