Recently purchased 94 max II, the buggy likes to pull to the left. most noticable when slowing down or at zero throttle. but still pulls a bit at full throttle. I know that the outer bearings need replacing on 2 of the 6 wheels but one on each side, could this be the culprit. or is the t-20 in need of adjustment? Has plenty of power and turns both ways fine.

tire pressures and more importantly tire diameter is more likely the culprit lets say at 2 psi if you were to measure the center diameter of all 6 tires you would probably get 6 different sizes in the old days with balloon tires they were measured by diameter rather than pressure (according to some old max literature i've read ) if the tires have been over inflated before they tend to stretch and the larger diameter cause a pullthey dont call me mad because im angry!!!!! im just a little crazy thats all!!!!

hello again, I just got off the ground. Engine running good, thanx mad max the tire pressure was the cultprit for the pullling. Now I just through a drive chain from the t-20 to the passenger side drive chain. It appears to be out of allignement. the drivers side looks good but appears loose I saw some adgustment bolts to move up and around for I would think chain wear? but all i saw for the allignment was washers? am i on the right track or am i missing an important piece of the puzzle? just need to keep her going until after deer season, then I think a breakdown and going over is instore for the winter. How tight should that drive chain be, it seems to me that it ought to have good pressue as not to bind? thanx in advance you folks know your stuff.

yes , align the jackshaft to the trani first useing the shims ,then align the axle sprokets to the jackshaft ,it depends on the ser # (year) of your machine as to how the latter is done, splined shafts use shims on either side of the sproket (inside the snap rings) if there is not enouph to get it right then add or subtract shims to the inside brg to move the shaft in or out, Note; if you have to shim the axle postion then you should do the same to all the axles to keep those chains aligned as well
In summory, align the jackshaft to the trani, then align the drive axle sprokets to the jackshaft , then align all driven axles to the drive axleHe who has not cruised the back country in a 6x6 , has not lived life to it's fullest

well the test ride went great until I blew the drive chain out again. When I repaired it, I should have looked closer, the chain that is 34 links long had 3 masters links and lots of propblems, bent, battered and brused. No worries, went to farm supply store #60 chain not to hefty a price, gettng ready to try this again. Hopefully this time the outcome will be better. Lesson learned, closely inspect parts, even closer when they are in your hands.

When you replace that chain, jack the car up & spin your wheels by hand. If it's in proper alignment (perfect alignment) you will hear a whirl. That's pretty much the only sound you should hear. If you hear more than that, then you're out of alignment. Believe it or not, they can be aligned that well. If you have an alignment problem, you'll risk popping or busting your new chain, too, soon or eventually. Plus, it will never steer the way it should & then you'll be dissappointed.

count the teath on the cent axel that the jackshaft runs on . the new ones are 22t oldone was 21 . that can make it pull to one side . robbie1999 max 2 18 b&s 22 tires custom . new max iv 23 k 26 i/n tires brown . ht cable promark winch . new toy 1972 attex st400 400ccjlo and she will be bad . ( the frog )if it don't float with out you getting wet . don't bring it !
