mount it on whichever end of the machine sits lowest in the water, and on whichever side has the most room for it. I've just zip tied them to the frame in all of our machines, and it seems to work fine... haven't had one fail yet, and haven't had a zip tie break on me either. if you end up mounting it in the front of the machine, finding a place to route the hose can be a pain. i've found that a dishwasher drain hose works really well. the end fits onto the bilge pump tight, and the hose can bend really tight without kinking

i installed two pumps on my Max IV due to the fact that the middle of the tub sits about 3" higher than both sides. and i mounted them mid-ship because when in the water , my max sits level.

On the EFI machine and the Tank, I put the pump in the rear of the machine. Although they sit level in the water, I like to be able to purge as much water as possible after I'm done swimming. I just put the nose of the machine on a hill, and let the water run to the back so I can get a bit more out.

I felt the Max IV needed some bilge pumps. My Max IV tends to sit with the rear a bit lower. Especially with passengers or when on the throttle. I wanted to be able to evacuate the water that accumulated in the chain wells at the lowest point. I found a bilge pump made by Whale, the model 650 that will work in automatic or manual mode and fit in the chain wells perfectly.

I then fabricated a bracket from aluminum to mount the pump securely and as low as possible. It sits on a long lower panel that acts as a leaf spring in case the lower pan is forced upwards from an impact.

Here are a few pictures of the pumps mounted on the brackets in each chain well.

I chose to purchase a control panel from Seadog #423040 for ease of operation. It has a rocker switch to put the pump in manual, automatic and of coarse turn it off. It also has a built in circuit breaker and LEDs. Power was taken from the accessories outlet which is powered by the winch's power cables. You do need to cut a hole in the dash and drill a few holes.

I plumbed the discharge tubes to each side so I could see if the pumps were pumping from the drivers seat and ran the wiring to the engine cradle and with the factory harness.

When it was finished water could be removed automatically or on my command from the front panel.

              Keith.

Figured I needed to put some clamps on the bilge pump tubes so I cut a couple 4.5" holes in the rear of the Max IV.

Found some nice LED waterproof lights to fill the holes when I was done.

Over 2 hours in the lake this weekend and when I pulled the plugs on the ramps while loading it on the trailer not a drop of water.
