jeepfxr is right, call RI and they will be able to tell you all the details about your machine if you provide them with your serial number Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511"Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

You are the one who will be driving that Max II and need to decide what kind of terrain you'll be in the most. If you never plan to see water then any tire that catches your fancy will work for ground running, and there are certainly a ton of tires on the market these days that are far better-suited for dirt & mud. As an amphibious machine, the stock Max II needs some sort of compromise tire, and if you plan to be in the water at some point then it's a sacrifice that has to be made. Only a handful of these vehicles offer independant prop or jet pump drive, and the Max isn't one of them. You could just strap a pair of canoe paddles on the sides of your machine, or have a trolling motor handy that you could bolt on to manuver in water with; that would allow you to equip your machine with mudding/rock crawling tires yet still venture occasionally into the water. Honestly though, the chevrons we use are pretty good in most environments, just not spectacular in any particular one of them.

Dirty Harry summed it up nicely and let me add one more point. Even if you never plan on using it in the water, it doesn't take a very deep mud hole before you find yourself floating and without a tire that propels you in the water you will have a hard time making it through. So even if you don't plan on crossing streams, rivers, lakes, ponds, etc, if you are going to be in the mud at all, consider tires that swim.

+1 on the watery mud analogy; good catch, Mike. I recall once when I tried to drive across a large "puddle" which I discovered seconds later was actually a mini-pond of "poop soup" consistency, with little or no bottom. Without the paddle/chevron tires that my Max wears I would've needed either a winch (my rig didn't have one back then) or a nearby buddy to throw me a tow line (I was riding alone at the time). In other words, I would have been SOL.Last edited by Dirty Harry; 10-15-2010, 09:19 AM.

Well got pics up in gallery but cant get them on my thread but im doing everything from a phone so that might be why its the one that says rugby ranch the other owner was a rugby player so that's why it says that also someone was going to try bearclaws on his machine just wandering how they worked out for him that's what i want to use but if they wont go in water guess i will stay with my rawhides then

Rawhides are excellent tires for sure. I popped one on my max and replaced all the them with Duro mud and sand tires. They work great and the price is very good for sure. Plus I'm running 22's so that helps with clearence and ride quality. They do swim quite well, but I stay out of water now after capsizing my max awhile back and only use them in deep mud puddles for swimming. Just an option for ya...ebay usually has some good deals on them. The feat of sinking a max is a badge of honor.
