max drain plugs and body seal

I was recently looking for drain plugs for my Max II since the previous owner put a much larger PVC plug in the hole and made it larger. Anyway, during my little bit of research I found some info on the stock plugs that I thought I would post here for record:

The stock plugs are manufactured by Caplugs and they are the "BP" series plugs. They are the 3/4" ones. Here they are on Caplugs website: Caplugs - BP Series Finishing - Caplugs

They can be purchased directly from the manufacturer but the minimum quantity you can buy is 1,000 for $48.60 for a unit price of ~ $0.05 a piece or 5,000 for $108.50 for a unit price of ~$0.02 a piece. I'm not sure if there are any distributors close by that would let you purchase a smaller quantity?

Edit: Fastenal sells them individually for about the same price. Here is a link to the 3/4" ones that are stock from Recreatives Industries. Also saw a similar item that appears to be a different brand here: Plastic Plug Button W/Dep Ctr 3/4 Hole 100 of them for $7.69 for a unit price of ~ $0.08 a piece.

I wouldn't put silicone on the bearings. Depending on what kind of shape they are in, they may need to be replaced. If everything is good and installed properly, you can have a leak free 6x6. If it isn't much water, and your bearings don't have much play in them, I wouldn't worry about it. Just clean your tub out after you ride if you are in the mud a lot.

Well the plugs/ rubber stoppers worked great it went great on its first maiden voyage in a pond but got several other issuse that got to be addressed it still takes on a little water the axles them selves are takin in water should i or can i just put silicone on collars and bearing or is it going to take on some water no matter what this is my first 6x6 so try to be forgiving for so many questions that i ask it ran great for a while then stalled but i think its from the fuel filter going to address asap if you want to know about the stoppers just let me know

Well i recently went to a hardwar store they had rubber stoppers that are tapered they hopefully will work good going to try them out today and let you know how they work

use for the 3/4" holes i'm using boat plugs

i'm using 3/4 freeze plugs from O'riley auto parts in my wife's max. they work great

the body seal is just 1 1/2" truck cap tape that you can get at home depot. the drain plugs are body plugs for cars you may be able to get them at auto parts stores. they are either 7/8 or 3/4

what i did for drain plug hole i took a pvc or cpvc pipe 1" ID cant remember my attex drain holes are 3/4". Cut the pipe 3 or 4 inches long then bandsaw long ways in half and tape back together. Tape one end shut and fill with silicone takes a few days to dry usually take tape off the end after a day or so but wait a day or so longer split the pipe in half and let cure. The nice thing is there fairly easy to shove in the hole but flexible if you hit something. Now if i can find where i put mine I just put silicon on
lower tub good size bead and put the top on and secure and wipe off excess

Whats a good solution for replacement parts for plug and body seal i dont have a max dealer anywhere near me but got alot of hardware stores i know factory is better but dont like to wait on parts
