Big Max/ Lil Max

I was searching through my 6x6 files on my other computer today and I came across this picture of a Lil' Max. I know they made the Big Max and it came with a 440 twin, but what was different about the Lil' Max? Has anyone ever owned one? Im pretty sure it was probably just the engine, but what engine came in them? Did anyone ever own one? Heres a picture attached.

Mine is a 72 max2 & it has or had a 295 jlo in it.It was little but not going to be after I finish it.LOL I also noticed that the front tub on mine and the pic that you show is like the tub on a Hustler How it flairs out in the front.NOT FLAT ON SIDE OF TUB.

They actually changed that so that the tub didnt have that flair and it was flat all the way in the late 80's I believe.

my 75 body still had the flare, you cant run the current factory track setup on that tub and it limits tire clearence on the front. the old style front dosent help with floation either i think mine is faster now with the new style body. hard to tell though because i swaped engines at the same time went from an 18 briggs to a 25 kohler........

You might be right, Im not 100% sure. But about the swimming with that tub, I would agree that it was slower in the water with the old style one. Hustlers have that same flare in the lower body as the old Max IIs do and from what I hear they arent very fast in the water. This could be a big reason for it.
