According to argo's site, the 8x8 Avenger 119" long - Argo 8x8 Specifications

How long is your Max going to be? 122" ? (96" + 26")

I'll be using a stock MaxIV setup, FYI. NO stupid hubs, NO stupid 1" axles... hey, anything could happen though, right?
(I have 3 machines with 1" axles. No offense intended....)

I could add a gas grill, a shower, cable TV... Yeah, it's going to be long! SPEAKING of which... Can I get an Argo 8x8 or a MuddOx owner to measure total overall length? I want to see how much shorter I am, and to see how much "AATV envy" I can expect.

Place your bets. My money is on the T-20 working just fine for this Big Boy. The biggest problem for Mike will be making sure that he can keep the wheels on it. He has a tendency to lose 1 or 2 once in a while. No Pressure, Mike.

The one I saw had the same transmissions as the trail boss. So I was told anyways. But one on each side. The engines where missing and not sure what engine they used but there was one on each side like hydromike stated.

Hi George! Attex used a pair of 16HP Briggs and a pair of Granite State transmissions to drive their BIGFOOT prototype. Each side operated independant of one another.

A T-20 is a very strong, durable, and in my opinion (and many other 6x6World members') the best AATV transmission ever built, so yes it will hold up just fine in an 8x8 application. Attex made their 8x8 Military tank trainers with the T-20 in them and they did just fine. Hydromike has 25" Rawhide III's on his T-20 equipped Attex 8x8 and it does great.

I'm confident that the T-20 can handle it just fine. (I look like a dweeb.)

When you add up the total gain in weight, it's in the same weight class as Big 5, my Attex Tank Trainer. Big 5 weighs in at well over a half ton, I figure, and it moves around effortlessly. The greatest amount of weight will be two more wheels/and tires. The additon of another two feet of HDPE is nominal. Four more bearings, about 8-10 more feet of chain, two axles, and I'm guessing about 30 pounds more in added frame. I'm eliminating a lot of little stuff, but you get the idea.... I'll probably add a lot of steel reinforcement, but all-in-all the T-20 is a heavy duty piece of equipment and should handle the addition of weight just fine. The Buffalo Truck weighs in at 1135, and has a 2135 pound (!!!!) gross weight. I hope to come in well under that.

There were two distinct drives on the Bigfoot, I believe. Two engines, and two transmissions, one for each side. I figure the frame of that Bigfoot had to weigh in at over a ton, itself. Have you seen pictures? EEeeks. It's an aircraft carrier.

Who knows what'll strike my fancy when that time comes. The green "blem" uppers at RI are still megabucks, and I'd need two. Two megabucks is....well... expensive.

Because HDPE is such a "mobile" material, and sags over time compared to ABS, I'll need to bolster up the sides somehow. MaxIV's sag considerably over a "six wheel" span; can you imagine eight? Perhaps an internal 1 1/4" ID roll cage going around the inside of the upper? It would tie to the frame (be PART of the frame) and could even help to support a winch mount on the front. And rear. And both sides.

    And support a cannon.

Well that's another consideration.. gun mount platforms, for potato gun warefare, or maybe just automatic paint gun weapons.
