  • trolling motor mount on Max IV

I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas for a trolling motor mount on a
    Max IV.

I bolted 4x6" rectangles of 2x4 onto a 4x6x4 piece of angle iron that I then bolted onto the top of the roller fairlead brace of my front mounted winch.

I reversed the head on a long shaft 55 lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor, and operate it from the front seat. I have a throttle extension to make it easy to reach while seated. The deep cycle battery gets strapped on in the back.

    It works very well.

You can kind of see the set-up in this picture:

That's a nice-looking hunting set up, Bud. And it appears it works well, judging by the string of quackers along the side.

Thanks. It works out pretty well.

I really appreciate the reply. I don't have a winch mount but I think I will get one and try to work something out. I added a self priming utility pump with double suction lines in each side and it will pump water well below the chains on each side if I we're to happen to take on that much water. These machines will make excellent back woods fishing boats that you can not get to with anything else with just a few modifications.
