Dayco changed their numbering system and as such appear unable to cross reference the number you give. The new number in my case was a Dayco HP 3003 however for my 23 hp. Max II it came kitted with the same belt number you quote for a spare and it was no where near long enough for mine.On the forum here somewhere is a chart with numbers to give the dimensions of the old belt number then you can cross those specs to Dayco's new part number.
Your belt will be 1 3/16" wide and somewhere from 43-45 3/4 " long. Good Luck.

do you think that the 23 horse and the 18 horse would have a different belt because the clutches are the same right? and really the belt doesnt stretch out does it it gets thinner right?

They wouldn't necessarily have the same belt on the 23 and 18 as the mounts could be configured differently on the engines.I believe the belt will stretch a little as it gets thinner. If you took a 15252aa off yours then yours is shorter. That belt that came with mine as a spare was definitely way too short to use as a replacement. Those numbers on those Dayco belts cannot be crossed by Dayco as they felt they were special batching numbers for a specific customer/usage in this case probably RI.
