  • Max IV

I was wandering how much pressure the body could take with factory
winch mount? My max iv winch plate just mounts to body and looks like
if you where stuck pretty bad that it would pull rite off. This seems to
be the way most are running.

With a plate on the inside, I have never seen one ripped off the body.

      Winch Max IV

I just put a winch on my Max IV, and it does have a doubler on the inside. My mount also attaches to the seam bolts. I got my mount from Route 6x6.

The factory winch is a 2500 pound Warn. I wouldnt put a large winch on the IV because of how it is mounted. I am sure that with enough force something will give. I want my winch to be the weak point. I have a cheapo harbour freight 3000 pound unit.

I have seen some Max IV's with winch mounts alot more substantial in the gallery. One guy has a steal frame arround the seam and attaches to it.

You'll never damage the nose of a Max IV with the winch mounted correctly with a factory mount. I've been around Max's for a long time....home made winch mounts are the ones to worry about.
