I took a bearing out of my max well the number on bearing will not cross with anything nor can iget the exact replacement from the company that makes it my question is are the axles an inch and a 1/4 whats the od in mm for this machine. The 1" 1/4. Is the inside of bearing i went to napa and after twenty min or so we was able to find a replacement for the one i have but its going to cost 53.00 for one bearing boy was i shocked when he said the price and the axles are the solid ones that i can. Tell i need to make sure these are the right bearings for my machine im going to call ri later c what they cost from them but want an alternative place to buy that i can afford

TSC has them for a lot cheaper than that but they are still kinda pricey. From what I have read on here there are 2 different size bearings that were used and TSC carries both sizes I guess it just depends on the year of your machine. There is also a bunch of posts on here about what bearings our machines use and a how to thread on replacing them.

Those are some of the posts that I found really helpful to me.

      Hey Larry,

Are these bearings for a Max II or a Max IV? I'm assuming that you need an outer bearing, right? I have the number for the larger O.D. OEM Max IV outer bearings that RI is currently using (...a Peer bearing) at home, and I can get it to you a bit later this afternoon.

Both the Max II and the Max IV used two sizes of outer bearings. The larger of the two is 72mm, but I'm not sure when they made this change-over. Take a look around at TheBigBearingStore.com and look under their INSERT BEARINGS link on the left. The outer bearings with locking collars are the HC200 Series. The inner bearings with the two locking set screws are the UC200 series. I think these designations are specific to this website's inventory, so NAPA may not know what you're talking about if you go in to cross reference.

The link to the 72mm O.D., 1 1/4" ID Max IV outer axle bearings that I'm giving a chance at glory is <<HERE>>. $11.36 each.

Good prices, and fast service. The product may not be as durable as a Timken or even the OEM Peer units, but this will get you rolling....

      Good luck...

OK you have an earlier Max II-4......back when they first started using 4 stroke Tecumsehs I'm guessing. You'll need a 62mm outter diameter, triple lip seal bearing. I deal with Buffalo Bearing a lot and they can get you these bearings for under $15 a piece. 1 (800) 669-8019. Tell them your what you need them for and they'll be happy to help you out.

When I was searching I called the bearing store but they told me that the bearings listed on their website were not triple sealed. They had an alternative insert that was but it was not listed on their site.
