  • Sprocket REPLACEMENT ON MY MAX II 1995

anyone have suggestions where to purchase all new sprockets and chains for my Max II. I sarted out replacing the bearings and found some of the chain sprockets are woren out beyond use. Figured that I have had it appart this far I will put all new sprockets and chains on also. I know about Richard's and Recreative Industries but was wondering if I cut the old sprockets off weld new ones back in place to save money or am I asking for more problems than what it is worth. Has anyone done this and where did they get the sprockets.

I have a hustler that I had the sprockets cut off and welded new ones on. I had mine done by a machinist buddy, that had to size the inner hole to the sprocket tube and he cut the sprockets off and made the new ones turn true on a lathe. If you do go that route, I would suggest buying good quality sprockets and not the cheapest. I bought my sprockets from Motion Industies.
