I just picked up a 97 Max IV with a Kohler CH20 engine. I have searched the net and here and have still not found a manual for this puppy. I figured there would be a pdf version somewhere. I guess I will call RI tomorrow but I want the PDF.
OK. off my soapbox but WOW.
This guy is LOUD. I thought the muffler was bad so I took the muffler off and found the problem. The exhaust flange was broken and re-welded. I guess the guy that welded it did know that the flange could not seal properly with a 1/4 inch gap from left to right. I have the square box type muffler and I am trying to find the exhaust flange. Does anyone have a part number for the flange? I can't even find the muffler kit so I am guessing that RI makes the mufflers.?
Side note, this is my second 6X6. My first was a 80's Hustler that I had in the early mid 90's. It was a blast.
On the Max, I have changed the fluids, plugs, all filters, tighten/lubed chains, took the tires to 5psi, greased the bearings. I still need to straighten the shift linkage tube and weld a 1 inch angle the full length of the tube. I am excited about getting her ready for the South East Texas swamps.
Glad to be here guys.
Thanks,
Jason
