You're running a BigMax, Nick... right? I don't know if there's much of a difference in the lower tub between the BigMax and a Max II, but if you're willing to do a little tub mod (which might not even be necessary), then I think you'd be good to go. At that price, you should pick up the tires regardless....

The 400 shouldn't have too much trouble spinning those tires. You can always change a sprocket to something bigger if absolutely necessary. Also, I don't know if the Frontier tires will balloon much at speed. If so, they could get much taller and start to rub the tub. Just something to think about....

For that price ....I'll take 12! The problem is the maxII axles are 25" center to center (I measured the frame out of the tub). A true 25" tire will rub the other tires at speed.
Rim width also comes into play here, a narrow rim makes the tire taller and rounder but a wider rim makes the tire wider and flatter. You will also need a new rim. The -9 number at the end means a 9" diameter rim, a stock maxII rim is 8".
For more info check out this thread: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...es-max-ii.html

I'm thinking of some new shoes myself. I like the frontiers, but the 24" ers are narrow. It seems like 24" is a hard size to find...anybody have any suggestions?
I've also thought of cutting/lengthening the frame (probably .5" front and rear)...Anybody else tried it? Patching the tub would be hard, but I think I have a new uncut lower on the way.

Thanks guys yea on my machine I have a glass pack looking pipe that comes out on the left side and its really close to my 22's now so that would have to be changed also I think it would be worth it tho if I could make em work but I guess if they r gonna rub at speed I'm not sure what to do now maybe ill just pic em up anyway

Administrator Mike posted some pictures and a lot of data on the different sizes of tires and their clearances for the max II. It is in the max section or tires sectioncan't remember. He also took pictures as to what they looked like on his machine. Maybe Mike can help find this thread.

Here's the thread Lewis is referring to: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...es-max-ii.html

There are a few more on the same topic if you will search the site.
