What's the biggest motor you can stuff without fitment problems?

    Larry. The 4 cyl. Pinto engine is a 1.6L. I have one but I think it's too heavy for a machine. I would stick to the aluminum block variety of engines for anyone who is watching this thread.

      last week I had a Suzuki Samurai engine in the garage; it's small, lightweight, go 9K rpm easy with no electronics involved. The guy used a newer Suzuki Swift/geo metro/Pontiac Firefly engine long block (1280cc 4 cylinder) with a weber downdraft carburetor.

      It could fit in my MaxIV if I made a low profile oil pan. and would be an easy reliable swap.

      This particular engine made 90hp in his 4x4 (65hp stock)

      edit : if you are looking for power, any newer 4 strokes snowmobile engine will fit in there.
