The best place for a 2-stroke is in a dumpster. Loud, smokey, and too high strung for a vehicle with no suspension.

It would make one badass chainsaw... A 4-stroke chainsaw is just wrong.(unless its a 350 sbc...)

Is that so Brandon? There are quite a few members on here that wouldn't agree with that statement, me being one of them. Maybe you should rethink the way you post a response, rather than just saying something extreme like "throw it in the dumpster". For a trail machine a 2 stroke might not be a great idea, but for an AATV that you want to speed around with, nothing can touch a well tuned 2 stroke. Look at all those vintage AATV racers back, and even a vast majority of the machines at the Ashtabula AATV races that were held over the past 2 years........they were 2 stroke machines. And then there were all those vintage AATVs that were 2 stroke powered rocketships, the Attex 440 Thunderchief, 500 Superchief, the Big Max, the Argo SS just to name a few.

The fun factor of a 2 stroke machine is beyond amazing! Like George said, bring it to Ashtabula, we'll all help you get it in there and take it for a ride. You can always switch it back. Don't go and throw it in the dumpster.

I just wanted to get you fired up, JP.
A few years ago I had a Hustler with the Kohler 440 2-stroke. I'll never forget the first time I showed it to two of my friends. They were standing right next to it in the garage when I started it up (an amazing feat in itself). That 440 lit up in such loud, destructive sounding choas that my friends ran out of the garage. I waved them back in and revved it up a few times. We could barely yell over the noise of that engine so I shut it down. I asked if they wanted a ride and they could not believe someone could even think of using something so insane. We then walked back to the house (from the detached garage, about 100 feet away) and upon looking back at the garage, I saw smoke actually rolling out of the garage doorway as if the building was on fire. In one minute of running, that engine smoked up the garage so bad it looked like a mattress was burning.

I laughed about it for the rest of the day and I still laugh about it years later. I guess 2-strokes are good for one thing....

There you Brandon, I know you love those old 2 strokes too! You just can't beat the feeling of driving at crazy high speeds and only controlling your machine with two sticks. The vast majority of my fleet is 4 stroke, but I'll always have a place in my heard for a wicked fast 2 stroke screaming machine.......and it sounds like you might too.

Nothing wrong with a bit of noise and High RPM, unless you're hunting.

Even for trails. I took my 295 2-stroke Wolf down all the same trails as the 4-stroke Maxs and Argos in Busco, didn't have to avoid any mudhole or obstacle either. You need to drive them a little different, but they aren't any less capable on the trails than they were in the 60's and 70's

2 strokes aren't all that bad. They do suck the gas though.......
