Hello Everbody.
I am looking to purchase my first Max atv. There is a 1989 max 4 in the Chicago area. The body engine and drivetrain are all in good condition. It has newer rawhide tires 4 post rollbar and a windshield. It also has the 20 hp Kohler commander engine. He is asking $3900.00. Can anyone give me an idea what this would usually sell for?

That price sounds a little steep for a 1989. If it were a 1999, that would be a decent price. The newer models have splined axles vs the single bolt holding the sprocket to the axle. If you can post some pictures of the chains and tensioners, we can see the condition of the machine. I would think $2500 would be more fair, but without seeing the machine, its your call.

You look right on. I have been snooping around E-bay and Craigslist and $2400-2700 looks to be the norm.
