  • argo bigfoot wheels on 03 max? outboard motor

do they fit? I'm picking up a max II this weekend and the 21" wheels look like I'll be stuck most of the time. Will the argo rims bolt on the max? What the argo track system...does that fit the max?

Also, to swim against the strong current my brook has, how does a trolling motor on front react when an underwater obstacle is hit? Who makes an OB bracket for the front of the max? thanks.

If you have an older Max II with an external muffler, 22" tires are the tallest that you can fit without tub adjustments. A new Max II with the internal muffler can handle 24" tires. Argo Frontier rims will fit.

A trolling motor shaft will flex and bounce off of underwater obstacles. I do not know of a commercially available front mounted trolling motor bracket, but I fabricated one that is on the front of my Max II. It is bolted onto the winch mount, and works fine.

The bolt pattern of the Argo rims is 5 lugs by 4.5" apart. This is the same bolt pattern as the Max and pretty much the same as all 5 lug 6x6 and 8x8 AATVs out there.

I just finished a rear mount for the trolling motor with a box each side of mount for small paralled batteries.I'll have pictures soon. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Got my BF wheels on! What a difference. This buggy is twice the machine and can go through serious muck now. I heated the tub from top side while applying some pressure with a rounded off block of wood over the tire ala tire air pressure. I'd like to thank the junkman for his advice and others on this update. I also made an aluminum engine cover to help keep the motor cool.

That looks great! I love the stance of a Max II with 25's.
