Here's a sneek peek at my latest project. It's not finished yet, but maybe 90-95%.
I hope to have it at 100% for Ashtabula. Notice the split shifters relocated beside the seat (ignore the cardboard templates , thats next on the to do list).

I haven't pulled it off the jackstands yet. I had one bad tire when I ordered them. Got the replacement and put it on last thursday. I had to odrer carb gaskets, but that got put back together this morning. Nothing but ambition is stopping me now. I'll let you know as soon as I get it in the water.

Took it out back, throttle cable slipped, it's amazing how much more power you get if your not limited to half the throttle travel. I have much more test & tune to do yet, but I did get it wet. I have a small pit 6' wide and about 20' long. Its so small that it is hard to tell about swimming.......but so far so good

                    Excavator tires

I've been quite busy lately and havn't had the chance to play with the newly put together machine. Well, I finally took it out today and got it wet.
The verdict is in....the excavator tires swim ...a little. They definately will not set any speed records, but will cross a pond ok. On the other hand, they do throw lots of mud

The motor gave me some problems on the test run, and I wish I had another week utill Ashtabula. I managed to get it stuck right beside the wussy bridge, the motor died and wouldn't restart (dead battery). So I guess I have a charging problem. It also won't shut off with the key...maybe it came unplugged inside the engine shroud.
Sooo much to do, Sooo little time!
