Can you reach the tiller and is it easy to control? How much river current do you think 38lbs will go against? I have a 2hp that I'm hoping can go upstream a brook that runs about 5mph. Thought about mounting on the front on the winch plate.

I have run against tides in a river slow flowing. The trolling motor I believe does better than the wheels. The 2 hp. will have much more power than the trolling motor but 5 mph. current is significant. The tiller can be reached as mine extends several inches.I crank a clamp on the shaft so it will hold course itself yet can be steered. The biggest hassle is go out deep enough to lower motor and of course Max is floating so its a task to both lower and raise the motor floating. It both has to tilt down as well as the shaft slide down.
