  • Newbie with Max IV

Just purchased a Max IV with 16 Briggs Vanguard. Unsure of year model. Has round headlights and serial # 9648. Can anyone help with year model?
Also where is best place for parts? May need throttle & choke cables to start with. Chains and bearings where recently changed. Thanks for any help.

Give Recreative Industries a call. They are extremely helpful and can get you the parts you need: Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511

As for the year, if you give them the serial number over the phone they can give you the exact date but just comparing to other serial numbers it is probably about a '97.

I think my Max II serial number is real close to yours.

Newbie to the Max world as well

A week or so ago I was recently GIVEN a MaxIV. Called Recreative with the serial number and found out was built Oct of 93. Had never heard of them before. The guy my father leased our hunting land from had left this MaxIV in the barn and said he didnt want it, so its mine now. Poured a little gas in the carb and fired right up. Needs a throttle cable and choke cable and of course the battery is dead as a door nail but other than maybe about $150 or so, and I'll be ridin. Cant wait to get my parts and get in for my first ride.

I'm located in Alabama. I'll take some pics as soon as I clean her up some. She's been sittin up in a barn for some time and dirt dobbers got to her, but I'm amazed at the great shape its in. It looks like its barely been used. I dont even know what one of these things would be worth but everyone I talk to is amazed that this thing was just given to me. Ordered all the manuals for service and the like from Recreative and cant wait to get started working on it.

I know what you mean, I bought my Hustler 980 BIGFOOT out of Montgomery, Alabama and it was full of them. Those wasps built their mud nests in every place imagineable in that machine. I'm going to just guess and say that if the machine runs and drives and it is decent condtion you might have a $2000-2500 machine on your hands. This could more or less, depending on options and condition of course. Either way, great find and welcome to 6x6world. You will have lots of fun here.

Cant wait to take her cross the lake and go some places I havent been.
