Max II Floorboard Mod

Yes, it is just cutting the seat/floor board contraption into two pieces. It makes it much easier to remove everything but as an added bonus it also allows you to just remove the seat for easy access to the battery.

I am wanting to do the floorboard modification on a Max II. For those of you that have done this, where are you cutting the floorboard and how well does the seat stay in place?

Please enlighten me guys. What exactly is this modification? Is it to make it easier to pull the floor out without mashing the throtte and the choke pull handle and all the bad stuff that happens when you do it?

when I did mine I took one bolt out of each chain adjuster and replaced it with a 1/4" bolt pointing up long enough to stick through the floor and put a wing nut on it, it helps hold the floor part from moving around

The machine I worked on had the floor cut in the middle of the shifter hole. The seat was pretty secure. I wouldn't worry about it coming out without effort. Its a press fit.

The seat stays in place just fine.....I never had any problems with it coming out. I cut it so that the only piece that is attached to the seat is the flat piece of plastic where the shifter hole is. I can snap a picture if you need since that description isn't all that clear.
