  • Chain, 50 or 530

O.K. I'm looking to replace the short chains coming off of the T-20 with really good quality chains. I've read and read post after post. It seems most agree that I don't need to use O-ring chain. But should I use 530 chain for this, or is the high quality #50 chain good? My machine is a 97 model Max IV with splined axles.

I'm looking at diamond, tsubaki, etc.

I feel sure that the 50 I've used for the other 4 chains is adequate, but the main drive chains seemed to stretch very quickly.

    50 or 530????

    Thank ya'll for your help.

This stuff isn't exactly cheap, but the side plates are as thick as #60 and don't seem to stretch as easily or as much. If you're only going to replace the main drives, the expense may well be worth it for you.

DIAMOND 530 XLO O-RING CHAIN NEW IN BOX 108 LINK | eBay

Would this fit properly and be enough (I know I'll have to buy another master link and cut at 52 links per chain)?

Anything better for the money? $84.00 to my door....
