No need for two posts on the same thing so I deleted your other one.

If you will look on the first page of the Max forums you will find the thread: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...nd-max-iv.html

The Max IV is one of the easiest platforms to build a cage and mounting system on. Basically start with angle iron on the sides and use your imagination from there.

Remember the more weight you add high above the center of gravity the less stable the machice will become. So I always think minimal on the cage. Using it more for a rack and frame for other uses than actual roll over protection.

          weight on cage

ok that is a very good point that i did not think about, i knew for boating purposes it would be good to stay light but did not think about the weight making it less stable on land, i will tell him to use a light or medium weight metal

          thank you

For in the water and on land go minimal. A great thing about using the angle iron as a base and using tubing is you can have tubes pointing up as accessory attachment points. If you want a rack over the engine box you can have tubes in place to slide the tube of the rack down and then put a pin through it.

I have seen a max iv with a cargo rack, and by switching out the rack there are two more seats for seating for six. This was used for photography safari. The photographers would sit up high in the back above the engine box to take photos.

Some guys around here have a dog boxes above the engine box and have a basket on top of the roll cage to carry decoys.

              hey jerry

that i something i want to do, i just did not want to spend 700 from the dealer for one

i have looked thru a lot of max pics and not seen much of that, do you know who has some dog cage pics or rack pics i could look at? and i would love to see the 6 seater

i need to go do some rides and see what people are doing for mods, are there any rides coming up?

I agree the factory cage is expensive. I have been ordering the IV and II without options to keep the base price down.

here are some pics of a square tube cage and some others for ideas.
