  • MAX IV suspension front bench seat & eliminate rear seat?

I was wondering if anyone has fabricated a Max IV front suspension seat based on the stock bench seat? My idea is to replace the posts on all 4 corners with small motorcycle shocks, tied in to a slightly beefier angle iron frame. I plan to use 1/4" HDPE for the seat bottom and back (pre-drilled with breathing/drainage holes), along with thicker (and denser) marine-grade foam and vinyl covering.

Anyone built something like this, or perhaps something similar??? I want to go back to a bench in front so that myself & the missus can ride together up front and our 2 dogs can sit in back. I already have a couple of ideas I'm kicking around to repalce the rear seat with a straight drop wall piece and extend the floor pan, and secure some sort of thick pad in place for the dogs to sit on. I plan to bolt in a couple of bungee-connected carbiner clips to the rear wall section to secure the dogs' walking harnesses to, in order to keep them safely "belted" inside the rig during extended trail and two-track rides.

Any pics, links or other info would be greatly appreciated!!!

I think there are a few threads on the same topic here on the site.

mudbug3 mocked one up here: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/gener...sion-seat.html
BW6 built one in his custom 6x6 build here: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...-ii-build.html

That may give you a few more ideas.
