max iv does it help putting belt dressing on the belt?

Do any of you guys use belt dressing to help lengthen the life of the belt or are you better of with out it? Wasn't sure if it was recommended.

I spray some on my belt a couple of times during the summer season when I ride it the most. I don't think it hurts anything. Always worked well on the various engine belts of my pick-ups and Jeeps.
