I just noticed my Max IV's body is cracked above the winch, just above the backing plate. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm thinking it needs a bigger backer plate. Any ideas? Thanks!
I think a bigger backing plate might work for a while until you put another big load on it. I have the factory roll cage so I am going to add a 1 3/4" pipe from each side of the roll cage and tie into the side of the mounting plate right below the headlights. Not a whole lot else you can do since there is no rigid frame close by. I wont even think about winching until I do so.
yup ive seen that happen on hard pulls on argos too, i corrected the problem by adding a good strong brush bumper to the front and mounted the winch to it instead of the body

I also have the roll cage. Could you share some pics when you get that done? Thanks!
i welded the brush bumper to the factory roll bar, actually im in the process of doing it again ,to a Max IV that i just picked up
