  • New max 2

Got my new max 2 Friday morning and even though I hated retiring the hustler I must say I love my max. We have hauled three deer out of the woods already. My only thing is tires came stock with 21" and was wondering what is the tallest I can run. Will be swimming a good bit and in a lot of mud any help is appreciated.

You can run 22" without any modifications and some Max II bodies will fit 24" Frontier tires without any modifications or minimal modifications. 25" tires will fit if you heat up the tub and remold it above the front four tires. That is the largest tire you can fit before they start rubbing each other. If you don't mind spending the money, Argo tires would be your best swimming tire.

The springs will let up with time. Once you have driven an amphib with springs vs one without, you will appreciate the precise feel with the springs.

It will not hurt a thing to remove the springs. Some people like having them and some don't. It's just personal preference.

Call me crazy, but after every ride, I clean and lube the bearings and chains, make any necessary adjustments, and prep for the next ride.
