    Hey m_nic....

"Worth" is a tough question to answer. There are a whole slew of issues to look over when buying an AATV, but for one that you can't really test out (start and drive), it's tough to apply that guide (which we have here on the Site, if you want to take a look at it). I have a RIM with the original Chap engine, and it's been a great machine for me, as little as I use it. They're geared quite low, so it's not going to have as much speed as you'd figure for a nearly 500cc two stroke. Lots of folks transplant 4 stroke Briggs, Kohlers, Kubotas, etc. into their machines for more reliability (if it gives you trouble) and more low end torque, less noise, etc. I never swapped mine out because I don't really mind it that much. Yet. If you want to off set the purchase of the machine, you could always sell the two stroke to one of the members here on the Site. I'll put my name in that hat.

The RIM is basically the still-in production Max IV, which is made right here (yeah, I'm "here", too) in WNY. Parts are readily available. Your machine is probably between a 1975 and I'd guess 1978? Maybe? If you call up Recreatives Industries, they could give you an absolute year, but it's really a bit relative. There's very little to make the 1975 RIM stand out from the 1995 Max IV outside of engine changes, and some basic cosmetics.

Where in WNY are you located? Better yet... Where's the RIM located?!

HA-HA......The maxIV is probably safe.......but I wouldn't answer that question if it was a hustler 950

Mike is a collector after all, and I hear he has a small patch of grass left in the yard.

thanks mike....im in niagara cnty. ya the cost is really going to affect if i can get it and keep it. what would the thing be worth to someone here. like i said its all there minus the wheels. i think i can get a plow and frame for it also. i would love to fix it up but........ i think first ill go through the motor and see if itll run. it turns over and seems to have compression( from pulln on the recoil). but if its gonna be to much money i might just swap it or something.

A COLLECTOR?! Just so you know, there is only ONE machine outside (lie) with a tarp on it. Everything else is under cover. Pretty soon, you'll be lumping me in with the ranks of The One and Only!
