what is the lowest hp engine size recomended? i have a kioritz 340 i think a 70's model that i lost compression in one cylinder and want to put a new reliable engine in it then try to rebuild the kioritz. the reading i found on the kioritz said it was pushing around 28 hp not sure how accurate that is but man when it was running it would move i know the newer ones come stock from around 14-16 hp briggs, just wondering would much rathe have a four cycle over a two stroke though

I say as low as 10hp 4 stroke would still work. I had an 8hp Tecumseh in an attex but its a lighter machine. It had the power to move it up hills and pull a decent size load but wasnt fast. Still a blast though. I would recommend at least 16 for a MaxII. More probably if you use it for more utility type work. Accessories get heavy. (Roll bars, winches., racks....) If you even think you would want tracks 18hp or more would be better. -

Kart racers push these to over 50 hp, but thats not practical for our purposes.....it actually gets expensive to get in the mid 30's, but low to mid 20's isn't bad.Comment

that is a good price this my first conversion so im not sure how much extras i would need i have two comet clutches one is off the kioritz coming out and the other is off an old skidoo 283 i might be able to use fabrication for a mount will be the easy part. can you recommend a type of clutch that would work with that duromax?Comment

Any clutch for a 1" keyed shaft, and weights/springs for a 4 stroke.

Or use an adapter and one of your 2 cycle clutches tapered clutch adapter
